Thomas M. King, age 95, of Flossmoor, Illinois. Adoring husband of the late Ellamae King, nee McMahon. Beloved father of the late Kathleen (late Leonard) Cobb, Sally (Leonard) Jackson, Nancy (Robert) Haugen, Judith (Michael) Krause, Richard (Mary Katherine) King, Thomas King Jr., Joseph King and Christopher King. Cherished Grandfather of Brittany, Martin, Leonard, Joseph, Robert, Theodore, Sally, Mia, Julie, Ryan, William, Bobby, Jack, Thomas, Anna, Grace, Mary Katherine, and Olivia. Proud Great Grandpa of Nadia, Colette, Leo, Edith, Ellamae, Leif, Ford, Nori, Mary Kate, Thor, Lillian, Blake, John, Unni, Charlie, Camille and Nina.

Tom was born in Chicago and enjoyed playing sports while growing up in the South Shore neighborhood. He attended grade school at Our Lady of Peace Parish where he met Ellamae, his loving wife of 65 years. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School having played on the basketball team and competed in boxing. Tom attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated from the business school in 1949, after having served as an Officer in the Navy during WWII. After college, Tom started his sales career with NCR Corporation covering the banking industry where he ultimately spent most of his career. He worked at the First National Bank of Chicago until retiring as Senior Vice President in 1985.

Tom married Ellamae on October 22, 1949 and enjoyed raising their family while living in La Grange, Bloomington and Flossmoor, Illinois before moving to Long Beach, Indiana. They were longtime members of Infant Jesus of Prague parish where Tom coached the varsity basketball teams. They were members of Olympia Fields Country Club where they enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Through his early nineties, Tom was able to instruct and play golf with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He was a big believer in family and in the joy of getting to know people. Tom followed his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chicago White Sox throughout his entire life and was able to attend White Sox World Series games in both 1959 and 2005. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, at Infant Jesus of Prague Church, 1120 Douglas Avenue, Flossmoor IL, from 10:30 a.m. until the memorial mass beginning at 11:30 a.m.
