Susan J. Goerlitz

Susan "Sue" Jean Goerlitz, age 81, passed away on October 19, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Sue was born May 21, 1944, in Elmhurst, Illinois to the late David and Eleanor Goerlitz.

Sue attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where she was a proud member of Sigma Kappa and the synchronized swimming team. She worked in downtown Homewood as a travel agent for more than 20 years.  Her passion for travel brought her all over the world. This love for the world and all of its cultures led to her spending much of her later years in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Kevin) Kurtz and their children, Makenzie (Nicholas), Rylie, & Enoch, and her son, Christian (Jacqueline) Geringer and their children, Joaquin, Cataleya, Mateo, and Enrique Galarza. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Goerlitz. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
