Stephan D. Weber

Stephan Donald Weber, 75, of Flossmoor, passed away in the early morning hours of September 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Chicago on October 19, 1950. He was the son of the late Donald Weber (Petrina Patti) and Eileen (Davis) Marcisz.

On May 1, 1971, Stephan married the love of his life, Margaret Mary “Peggy” (Schromen) Weber. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a family and a life filled with love, hard work, laughter, challenges, and countless memories. Steve was incredibly proud of his marriage. She was his pride and joy. His love and devotion to her remained one of the defining parts of his life. He spent his life making sure she was cared for.

Stephan was a hardworking man and a devoted provider. He worked as a millwright at Ford for 38 years before continuing his career with Union Pacific as a conductor. He took pride in his work and in being able to provide for his family. He was always willing to help when he could and often showed his love mostly through the things he did rather than through words.

Those who knew Steve knew a man of incredible physical and emotional strength, but underneath it he was a gentle loving man. He was a big-hearted person who could make people laugh with his corny jokes, he enjoyed cooking and hosting holiday dinners with his children and even all the extra people that were welcomed in over the years. He was always fixing, building, helping, or taking care of something behind the scenes and the people around him.

Stephan’s greatest pride was his family. He was the beloved father of Sean (Kathleen) Weber, Stephan Weber, Michael (Tifiney) Weber, and Allison Weber (Roosevelt Harmon), and the proud Papa of Jordan, Emma, Stephan, Phillip, Analeese, Mckenzie, and Daniel. He is also survived by his former daughter in law, Dawn Sandell, mother of his grandsons, Stephan and Phillip. Papa Steve was also looking forward to a new chapter in his family’s story as he was delighted to learn of the upcoming arrival of his first great grandson, to his granddaughter Emma (Jack). Though he will not be here to hold him, his expected great grandson will grow up knowing the love and legacy of the Papa who was so proud of his family.

He is survived by his siblings Jessica Weber (Mark Rumby), Mark (Darlene) Jones, Tim Jones (Caron Newman) Tamara (Karen) Jones-Loper, and Glenn Jones, as well as nieces and nephews Parker, Tracy, Ian Kelly, Cheryl, Patrick, Nicholas, Sarah, Maya, Parker, Tracy, Ian, and Kelly, along with sister-in-law Marilu Evans and brother-in-law Mike (Debbie) Schromen, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family members of his family through marriage, along with dear friends.

Stephan faced difficult chapters in his life with remarkable strength and perseverance. He found his way through them without complaint and became someone others could turn to for guidance and support. He was proud of his journey he made and spent many years helping others who were walking a similar path. Through his own experiences, he became a source of strength, guidance, and encouragement to people who needed someone to believe in them.

The last four years Steve courageously and fiercely faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease. Through it all, Peggy, with the help of his children, cared for him with tremendous love and devotion.

Steve will be remembered as a strong man who worked hard, loved and provided for his family, protected the people he cared about, helped others, and found ways to turn difficult experiences into something that could give someone else hope.

He leaves behind 55 years of memories with his beloved Peggy, four children and their significant others, seven grandchildren, a great grandchild on the way, a beloved network of extended family, siblings, in-laws, friends, and countless people whose lives he touched.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, mother, Eileen Marcisz, father, Donald Weber and stepmother, Petrina Patti; his brother Brian Jones; and his brother-in-law, Joe “Giuseppe” Orsolini. Joe’s first wife, Brenda, who preceded her husband in death. Joe later married Shari, who remains part of the family.

After a long and difficult fight, Steve can finally rest.
