Sharon "Sherri" Steinberg

Sharon Ann Steinberg, lovingly known as Sherri, passed away on May 2, 2025, in Valparaiso, Indiana, at the age of 79. Born on April 28, 1946, in Indianapolis, she brought beauty, creativity, and warmth into the world from the very beginning.

Sherri was a gifted artist and creative spirit whose talents touched many fields over the course of her life, from professional art and graphic design to copywriting and publishing. Her deep love for drawing, painting, and design stayed with her throughout her life, finding new forms of expression in sewing, the intricate patterns of quilting, and even in gardening. Her artistry was not just a profession but a way of life, and she shared it generously with those around her.

She was the beloved daughter of Grace and George Steinmetz, and grew up as the second of seven children, the only daughter among six sons: Mark, Michael, Charles, George, James, and Gerald.

Sherri shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Chuck Steinberg, and was a devoted mother to two sons, Jay and Max, who were the light of her life. She was also a woman of strong faith, a devoted Catholic whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Known for her warmth and wisdom, Sherri was a natural teacher and a great cook, often bringing people together around her table. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life; always listening, always understanding, always giving of herself. She was an avid reader fascinated by science fiction and kept sharp throughout life with puzzles and word games, a tradition she shared with her mother.

Sherri's legacy lives on in the art she created, the love she gave, and the many lives she touched with her gentle spirit.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
