Sandra L Buonomo

Sandra Lynne Buonomo nee Merrill (known as Sandie) passed peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the age of 77 in Chicago Heights, IL.

Sandie was born in East Chicago, IN on November 10, 1942. She grew up in Chicago and Hazel Crest, IL and was a 1960 graduate of Bremen High School. Sandie was a previous longtime resident of Homewood, IL where she raised her children and owned a women's retail clothing store.

Sandie was preceded in death by her mother, Maryann Merrill and father, Lloyd James (Jim) Merrill.

Sandie is survived by daughters, Jennifer Lynne Crum and Anne Marie Brakebill and granddaughter Kaylee Brakebill; sisters, Leslie Lowry and Carol Burnell; brother, Lloyd Merrill; brothers-in-law, Craig Lowry, David Burnell and Jack Krause; nieces and nephews, Craig Lowry II, Carolyn (Joe) Peck, Michael (Lauren) Burnell and Kathleen (Jon) Olson.

Sandie adored her children and grandchild and was known for her kind heart, sunny disposition and cheerful nature. Sandie struggled with numerous health issues over the course of her life but was able to remain positive and almost always had a smile on her face.

Due to the current Pandemic Crisis restrictions, a memorial will not be held at this time.
