Sally A. Kahn

Sally Arlene Kahn, age 89.  Passed away April 10, 2022, in Olympia Fields.  Sally was a lifelong resident of Homewood for 50 years.  Preceded in death by her loving husband Max and sons Marshall and David. Loving mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.   Loving mother to Harold (Nancy Roe) Kahn and Brian (Barb) Kahn.  Loving grandmother to James (Amy), Kelly (Zack), Matthew, Melissa, Michael, Jeffery, Katie and Jake.  Sally was born on June 1, l932 in Detroit Michigan then moved to Minneapolis and then Chicago after graduating high school.  Max and Sally started raising their family on the south side in Jeffery Manor.  They moved to Homewood in the early 70's.  After moving to Homewood, she started working at Kline's Department store in Chicago Heights.  Sally then fell in love with the travel business and became a travel agent.  She worked at various agencies over the 40 years she was an agent.  Sally started South Suburban Travel Professionals (SSTP) with other Travel agents in the late 1980's. She held various positions from president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer over the years. She loved to travel and visited more than 68 countries her favorite being Jamaica. Sally lived her life to the fullest, she loved to travel and shop. Daughter of the late Harry Schwartz and Bertha Margulis, sister of the late Irene McVeigh.
