Robert M. Kelly

Robert (Bob) Michael Kelly, age 85 of Chicago Heights, Illinois, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2025.

Born October 9, 1940 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth Kelly and the younger brother of the late Joseph (survived by Genevieve). He was the loving husband of 60 years to his wife, Noreen, whom he married on October 9, 1965.

Bob and Noreen raised their family in Dolton, Il. A devoted Catholic, Bob had a strong adoration to the Blessed Mother and was longtime parishioner at St. Mary's of the Assumption Parish in Chicago, later joining St. Kieran Parish after moving to Chicago Heights in 1991.

An electrician by trade, Bob worked in the steel industry and retired with Metra Rail. He was known for his tireless work ethic and ability to fix almost anything. Despite long hours, he made time to volunteer as a football and baseball coach and to cheer his children on from the sidelines. Some of the family's most treasured memories were made on camping trips, where Bob found joy and rest in the outdoors.

Bob proudly served as an Army reservist and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen and seven of their nine children: Joe (Debra), Patrick (Felicia), Colleen (Ken), Dan (Michele), Nora (Ed), Jim (Diana) and John (Ameera); 18 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary and son, Michael. He was also a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bob will be remembered for his faith, his hardworking hands, his gentle heart, and his unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in all who loved him.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Heights Parish- St. Kieran site, 724 195th Street, Chicago Heights, Il on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1pm.  A Memorial Mass will follow at 2pm.
