Robert A. Halm

Robert (Bob) A. Halm son of George and Elsie Halm was born on July 6, 1928, and passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 96 at the Residences at Deer Creek in Schererville, Indiana.  Bob was a long-time resident of Chicago Heights with deep roots in the South Side of Chicago.  Bob was the last surviving of nine siblings:  Katherine Halm, Ed (Mary) Halm, John (Dorothy) Halm, Elsie Halm, Fred Halm, Coletta (George) Halm, George (Mary) Halm, Jim (Josephine) Halm.   He is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Halm, and nieces and nephews:  Dan (Sharon) Halm, George Halm, Sue (Larry) Tardy, Marilyn (Mike) McCarthy, Mary Kay (Jon) Green, Bobby Ramelow, Steven (Allison) Halm, Marianne (Phil) Siegel, Jimmy Halm, and Mark (Jean) Halm.  Bob's nieces Peggy Ramelow, and Ida (John) Reid preceded Bob.

Bob spent his entire career with the Santa Fe railroad, retiring as a traffic manager.  Bob was a proud American, army veteran, avid golfer and White Sox and Bears fan.    Bob was happiest surrounded by his family and enjoyed time with his many great, and great-great nephews and nieces. He was loved and will be missed.

A visitation will be held 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Funeral mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Heights (Formerly St. Kieran) 724 W. 195th Street in Chicago Heights.  Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
