Patricia E. Spek

Patricia E Spek, 79, of Park Forest, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born in Chicago IL, the daughter of the late John and Eva McClelland. Pat was born on December 8, 1944. On June 10, 1967, she was married to her high school sweetheart for 57 long years, Ary Alan Spek who survives. Also surviving are her two daughters, Kimberly (Steven) Fouts and Jennifer (Robert) Eilts; her sister Darlene Knight; her eight grandchildren - Matthew, Kailey and Connor Fouts and Caleb, Mason, Alayna, Lukas and Noah Eilts; three sisters-in-law, Audrey Holt, Joanne VonWerder and Lila McClelland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Ary Spek, her brother, John (Jack) McClelland, and her sister-in-law, Janet Hoeferkamp. Pat loved her grandchildren, family and extended church family. She was extremely involved in organizations and activities at her church, St.John's Lutheran including Sunday School, Altar Guild, Board of Education and many others that showed her love of children. She enjoyed reading, crafting, gardening and spending time with her family. Her love for others was shown through her infectious smile, willingness to help, and the ability to step-up. Visitation is Friday, February 23 from 3-8 pm at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood. Funeral is Saturday at 10am. Service is at St. John's Lutheran Church and internment at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Repast to follow at the school fellowship hall.
