Patricia Boysen

Patricia Boysen (née O'Brien), age 86, passed away peacefully at her Homewood residence on October 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Loving daughter of the late James and Maureen (née Arnold) O'Brien.

Pat graduated from Visitation Catholic School (900 W. Garfield Blvd., Chicago) and Fox Business College in Chicago, where she met her first husband and a lifetime of dear friends, lovingly coined "The Club Ladies," who gathered monthly in one another's homes. All the children fondly remember "Club Night" and the wonderful sound of loud laughter that filled the house. She proudly worked at Ryerson Steel, Marshall Field's for 25+ years, Tishman Speyer, and Nuveen Investments, making many friends along the way.

Pat and her beloved husband, Chuck, took great pride in their Homewood residence of 19 years, where they received the Homewood Beautification Award twice. Before that, they enjoyed living at Sandburg Terrace in Chicago, where they regularly walked the city neighborhoods, enjoying their favorite restaurants and the theatre.

Pat grew up spending summers in beloved Hayward, Wisconsin, on Whitefish Lake. She joyfully continued this tradition throughout her life, making memories with her children and grandchildren, fishing and boating together. Her interests were many; there wasn't much she wouldn't try. An expert at shorthand, she mastered Irish dance as a young girl, jumped on the Jazzercise bandwagon in the 1970s, and in her later years took water aerobics. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Her most cherished holiday was Christmas.

The family wishes to thank her special caregivers and the staff of Heartland Hospice for their unwavering support and love.

Pat was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Bosco, and former husband, Gerald Bosco. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Charles "Chuck" Boysen; daughter, Kathleen (Mark) Kirley; stepsons, Chuck and John Boysen; stepdaughter, Becky; sisters, Marge (John) Grace and Jane (the late Cecil) Robinson; brother, James (Pat) O'Brien; and daughter-in-law, Tracy. Her grandchildren were everything to her: Connor, Nico, Austin, Taylor, and Alena, and she adored her many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
