Miriam Bramschreiber, long-time resident of Homewood, passed away on November 24, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 65-years, Howard; three children, Bill (Pam) Bramschreiber of Glendora, CA, Tom (Jennifer) Bramschreiber of Lisle, IL, and Debbie (Jeff) Rammel of Port Barrington, IL; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Miriam was born February 8, 1930, in Mason City, IA, daughter of William and Ethel Evans. Miriam earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University, and a Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University. Following a brief career as a high school teacher and guidance counselor, she spent decades active in the community. Served as President of numerous organizations, including District 153 Board of Education (nearly 20-years as a board member), Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and Parent Music Association (PMA). Was also active in the PTA Thrift Shop, Homewood Baseball, Homewood Historical Society, and St. Paul Community Church.
Services are private, but memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements by Tews-Ryan Funeral Home.
