Michael "Mike" Edward Rohrer, the youngest child of Jack and Betty, devoted husband of Eileen (nee Horan) of 43 years, loving father of Michael (Nikki) and Matthew (Kayla) and adored Papa of Magnolia and Delilah passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 14th, 2024 at the age of 68.
Mike was funny, kind, and so full of life. He was a hardworking Irishman; always had a joke to share or a story to tell. Mike never forgot a face and you were never a stranger for long; once he met you, you were friends for life. If asked, Mike would say he started working at the age of seven though I can only trace his career back 50 years starting as a butcher for Highway Foods, a salesman/driver for Wanzer's Dairy, 40 years as a proud union member of both the beer industry, Heileman Brewery and the Paper industry, FSC/Madison Paper but, Mike was most proud of the lawncare and snowplowing businesses He ran for many years. Mike loved, boating, grilling, snowmobiling. He spent years coaching his sons in baseball and loved being a grandpa. He was an avid sports enthusiast always watching the Bears and White Sox but his heart belonged to Notre Dame.
He is survived by his sisters Margie Lenz (Bob) and Kathleen Perno (Dave) and his brother Jack (Molly) and his best friend of 60 years, Bill Turner.
We'll miss your stories, twinkling eyes and laughter Mike. Heaven will never be the same with you there.
