Maureen Konieczny

Maureen Konieczny (nee Mulvaney), age 70, of Homewood, IL passed on April 9, 2021. She was the loving wife to Tom; devoted mother to Megan Wick (Doug), and Kate Khan (Mansoor); proud Nana to Noelle, Leila, Sophie, and Rubi; beloved daughter to Lawrence and the late Eileen Mulvaney; cherished sister to Jim (Jeanne) Mulvaney, and Kate Mulvaney; sister-in-law to the late Jim (Carol) Konieczny, Mary Ann Meyer, and Diane (the late Ken) Paulini; and fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Maureen devoted her life to her family and the children she taught. She was a stay-at-home mom prior to becoming a preschool and kindergarten teacher for over twenty years.  Maureen always maintained a beautiful garden, was an expert at crossword puzzles, loved time spent with her family, enjoyed shopping, and could frequently be found in the kitchen cooking everyone's favorite dishes. She will be dearly missed. A visitation will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, April 17 ^th at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood. A memorial service will be at 4:00 during which guests are welcome to share their memories of Maureen. The memorial service will also be live streamed for guests who are unable to attend. A link will be provided on this website on Friday April 16 ^th .
