Marylynn Truffa

Marylynn R. Truffa, nee Stromsted, 79, of Homewood and former resident of Beecher, passed away October 1, 2022 surrounded in love by her four children.

Loving mother of Mary (Bob) Foreman, John (Kim) Truffa, Kristen (Liam) Truffa, and Jennifer (Darin) Hartmann. Grandma/Nana to Joel (Katie), Kayla, Jake (Julianne), Amanda, Bailey, Ellie, Zack, Ben, and Rachel. Great Grandma to Jack, Owen, and her first great granddaughter, expected this month. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Former spouse and long-time friend of John Truffa.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Ray and Mary Stromsted, her beloved sister, Claudia Mazzorana, and former son-in-law Kevin Hartmann.

She was born in Chicago July 15, 1943 and graduated from Fenger High School in Roseland in 1961. Marylynn was a stay-at-home-mom for her four children, and in her spare time while raising her children, she received her real estate license and attended Joliet Junior College.

Marylynn was a memorable person, someone who appreciated good conversation with her favorite people who were consistently her family. Her kids were her life, and saying that she loved them was something repeated on a constant basis. Rarely shy with her opinions, one could always say where they stood in her estimation, and laughing and bantering with her loved ones was something that will be tremendously missed.

Mom varied her interests over the years with gardening, home remodeling, painting, watching crime shows, shopping at her beloved TJ Maxx after getting a pedicure with one of her daughters, or walking the aisles of Meijer with her son. She loved games, and the hours were many playing Rummy, Trivial Pursuit, and Scrabble. Telling stories about her life in Roseland, or her years "on the farm," brought many smiles. There was little she enjoyed more than simply going to her kids' houses for dinner and time with her grandchildren, as long as that was accompanied by a Diet Coke.
