Margaret "Marge" S. Berger

Margaret "Marge" Berger was a longtime resident of Homewood and most recently Lemont, IL. She was an active member of the Homewood-Flossmoor community as well as St. Joseph Parish and School including such roles as an officer of the Women's Guild, a member of the Finance Committee and a School Board member. Her volunteer efforts continued at Marian Catholic High School as the Mother's Club President. Marge was an extremely successful and well-respected real estate professional in the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Marge and her husband, Don were married for 57 years before Don passed in 2021. Together they raised 4 beautiful children Don (Carie) Berger, Anne Marie (Bill) McGovern, Mary Kay (Pat) Dunne and Patty (Dan) Wagner. She loved spending time with her 9 grandchildren Megan (Tim) Mazur, Caitlin Dunne, Colleen McGovern, Kevin (Paige) Berger, Shannon Dunne, Maggie Dunne, Kaylee Wagner, Ryan Wagner and Braden Wagner. She most recently laughed with and loved the personalities of her 2 great-grandchildren Liam and Kennedy Mazur.

Marge loved to travel and she and Don saw much of the United States including of course the annual family trip to Sanibel Island, Florida. She loved to read, sit on her screened porch, attend and host family parties and spend time with her close group of friends.

Marge had a long, beautiful life and her family was so lucky to have her for 90 wonderful years.

Visitation Monday September 23, from 3-8pm at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood. Funeral Tuesday with 9:15am prayers at the Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Church (formerly St. Joseph Church) for a 10am Mass.
