It is with profound sadness that we mourn the sudden and tragic loss of Luke Robert Burica who passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Homewood, Illinois at the age of 17.
Born on May 17, 2009, at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois, Luke was the cherished son of Maggie and Jeff Burica and a loving older brother to Kai and Noelle. He was not only a brother, but also a trusted friend to his siblings.
Luke was always true to himself, pouring his energy into the things he loved most. He was an exceptionally talented musician who spent countless hours teaching himself guitar riffs, mastering new songs, and learning to play new instruments. When he wasn't playing guitar, he could be found skateboarding with friends, where he enjoyed embracing the freedom and creativity that skateboarding brought him.
Though his life was far too short, his family and friends will forever cherish the memories he created and the love he shared.
Luke is survived by his loving parents, Maggie and Jeff Burica; his siblings, Kai and Noelle; his grandparents Bob Burica and Ann and Tom Wysocki; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mary Ann Burica.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood from 3:00-7:00. With a 7pm prayer Service.
