Lisa Salinas

We celebrate the beautiful and vibrant life of Lisa Salinas, who passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the age of 47. Lisa courageously battled stage IV pancreatic cancer for about a year, facing every challenge with strength, grace, and unwavering love for those around her. She was cared for by her loyal mother, Mary Reyes, and her loving husband, John McCullough, at the time of her passing, and will continue to be cherished by them forever.

Born on August 3, 1978, in Aurora, Illinois, Lisa was raised by her mother, Mary Reyes, and Angelo Ruffin, alongside her beloved siblings: Ernie Salinas, Maria (Tom) Szalay, Angelica Ruffin, Joshua (Shauna) Salinas, and Matthew (Jordana) Salinas. Lisa was a faithful daughter, a loving wife, a proud mother, a caring sister, and a treasured friend to all who knew her.

If you knew Lisa, you knew her light. She radiated positivity, kindness, and joy that could fill any room. Her laughter was unmistakable, bright, warm, and contagious. She remembered every birthday, showed up for everyone she loved, and filled even the smallest moments with humor and heart. She was the person you called when you needed help, comfort, or just a good laugh.

To her family and friends, Lisa was everything: a dedicated mother, a beautiful daughter, a loving sister, a fun and selfless aunt, the perfect dance partner, and a friend whose loyalty knew no bounds.

Lisa attended West Aurora Senior High School, where she began her lifelong journey as a devoted mother with the birth of her first son, Dametrick. A little over a year later, she welcomed Joseph, and together the three built a beautiful life, eventually settling in Homewood, Illinois. Later, Lisa's family grew with her marriage to John McCullough and the birth of two more of her greatest joys, Bryson and Samantha.

Lisa's professional journey was just as inspiring. After attending nursing school and working in real estate, she joined ComEd, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the company's first female substation supervisors, a true trailblazer who earned the respect and adoration of colleagues across the organization.

Lisa loved traveling with family and friends, always eager to connect with people from all walks of life. She was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox, but her favorite games were the ones where she watched her children play. Music was another of Lisa's great loves; she could often be found dancing, singing, and bringing joy wherever her favorite songs played.

Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides. She is survived by her husband John McCullough, her four beloved children Dametrick Evans, Joseph Evans, Bryson McCullough, and Samantha McCullough, her mother Mary Reyes, her siblings, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood, Illinois 60430. For further information, please contact Tews-Ryanfh.com or call 708-798-5300.

Lisa's legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
