It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Linda Marie Price, age 64, of Homewood, Illinois. Linda died peacefully at home on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family and friends.
Born on May 1, 1961 to Edward and Jacqueline Byrnes, Linda grew up in the Homewood area and met her future husband, Bob Price, in 1977. They were married in 1981, and spent the next 44 years growing together and cultivating a home where everyone felt welcomed.
Linda was the heart of her family, always happiest when gathered in her kitchen and cooking for the people she loved. She had a way of making everyone feel at home and was selfless and patient in how she cared for others. Linda's laugh — full and contagious — could brighten even the hardest of days.
Linda filled her life with simple joys that brought her peace and laughter, an example to others of what truly matters. She cherished her bowling leagues, weekends spent at the ballpark watching her children, and plenty of laughs with her group of friends - both lifelong and new. She had an amazing sense of humor coupled with a lightheartedness that grounded Linda and those around her. She often ended her days with a glass of the finest boxed Chardonnay — always with a smile — and found joy in holiday traditions, a never ending supply of Yankee Candles, and endless hours of Hallmark and Lifetime movies.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Bob; son, Bobby Price (Polly); daughter, Jenny Price (Kevin Krahmer); and sister, Julie Louden (Patrick). Nothing brought Linda more happiness than being a Grandma to her two grandchildren, Hadley Price (4) and Sonny Krahmer (2). She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second granddaughter in October. Grandma Linda is equally treasured by her grandkids, who will forever benefit from the unconditional love and kindness she showed them.
Linda also leaves behind countless friends, family members, and her beloved Palmer Avenue crew. Her greatest gift was the love, generosity, and care she poured into others. Her memory will live on in every holiday gathering, every family celebration, and every shared laugh around the table.
A memorial visitation and service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Friday, September 12th, from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at 3 p.m. at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Illinois. We hope those joining us will wear whatever brings them joy and comfort, as Linda would have wanted.
