It is with great sadness that the family of Lidia Joaquin announces her passing on November 23, 2022 at the age of 80, reuniting her in heaven with her beloved husband, affectionately known to her as "Cielito". A former 46 year long resident of Chicago Heights, she passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Liberty Township, OH after an illness. Lidia was born in Durango Mexico where she studied at a seminary, and after marrying her husband, Rev. Albert Joaquin in 1969 moved to the US where she quickly learned English and became a US citizen. She worked as a partner to her husband in the role as missionary, and helped minister to several churches including The First Spanish Baptist Church of Chicago Heights (1974-1989) before retiring. She was best known for her sweet disposition and her vast knowledge of the Bible. She was a loving stepmother to the late Rev. Belinda Joaquin, Evelyn (Pablo) Pacheco, and Dr. Albert (Lois) Joaquin, Jr., and grandmother of three, Dr Paul (Nicole) Pacheco, Julie (Jung Kyu) Kim and Danielle (Dan) Perlitz. Great-grandmother of four: Paul Edward and Joseph Isaiah Pacheco and Yenna Joy and Jio Jayce Kim. Private burial will be at Homewood Memorial Gardens.
