Keith Allan Kapes October 5, 1959 - April 10, 2024 Homewood, IL Keith passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2024. Keith was born in Chicago to the late John Kapes and Marilyn (née Dryer) Kapes. Beloved husband of Susan (née Clayton) Kapes; loving father of Meagan (Elliot) Busby; dear brother of Kevin (Jamie) Kapes; loved nephew, uncle, cousin and friend of many. Keith was an alumna of Rich Central High School and a graduate of Southern Illinois University. He worked for more than 35 years in finance and purchasing. He was a loving husband for almost 39 years. Keith was a devoted father who put his family first. He loved sports and coaching Meagan in softball. He loved his visits to Houston to see Meagan and Elliot. His heart belonged to Marco Island, Florida, listening to Jimmy Buffet and reading on the beach. His love, kindness, sense of humor and smile touched all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Keith's life on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2-5 pm at Tews Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood IL 60430. Interment will be private. In lieu of formal clothes, the family requests you dress casually or even wear your favorite sports gear to celebrate the life of Keith Kapes.
