Joseph J. Ariss, age 90, of Palatine formerly of Homewood. U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of Korean War.  Beloved husband of the late Mary Ariss nee Cantlin. Loving father of Joe (Carol) Ariss Jr., the late Dan Ariss, Nancy (Brad) Johnson, Bob (Carol) Ariss, Tim (Ginny) Ariss and Jeff (Lisa) Ariss. Cherished grandfather of Amy, Jodi, Holly, Michael, Chloe, Ryan, Megan, Elizabeth, Bobby, Hanna, Grace, Ashley and Corey.  Great-grandfather of 8.  Dear uncle and friend to many.  1949 graduate of St. Rita High School. Parishioner of St. Thomas Villanova in Palatine and St. Joseph Church in Homewood. Resting at the Tews-Ryan funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood on Wednesday January 6, from 10 am until the time of service at 12 noon.  Interment Assumption Cemetery.
