John Scott Wood

John "Woody" Wood of Mokena, IL (formerly of Homewood, IL) passed away on January 26, 2026. John was a graduate of Rich East High School and then joined the Wood Flooring family business. He was a loving father, Son, brother, cousin and friend to many.

He was an avid sports fan who loved the Chicago Cubs and Florida State Seminoles. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, cigars, cooking/grilling, spending time outdoors and also enjoyed coaching Football and Wrestling. John had a "heart of gold" was loyal to his many friends and family and was always "the life of the party".

John was preceded in death by his Mother Elizabeth Luzar. He is survived by his children; Nicole, Tyler and Brooklynn Wood, his father Lynwood (Mary), brother Russell (Melissa), nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL. from 1:00 until the time of the memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment private.
