John Michael Kut, age 73, died suddenly on August 22, 2025 at his Homewood, Illinois residence. He was born on August 24, 1951, in Harvey, Illinois, to the late Theodore and Colleen Kut. He was a lifelong resident of Homewood. He graduated from Homewood Flossmoor High School in 1969. He then went on to become a Master Journeyman tool and die maker, later managing Tool Automation Enterprises. He was married to Rose, briefly during his twenties.
John was known for his great sense of humor and boisterous laugh, frequently emailing jokes and absurdities to his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. In recent years, he had begun spending more time in Florida, where he enjoyed fishing with his many friends. John was always quick to help someone in need. He was also an enthusiastic jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed taking on many mechanical projects. He also attended mass regularly at St. John Neumann Parish in Homewood. John was a proud Godparent to BJ Moorehouse, Niko Naltsas, and Ethan Kut.
John is survived by his siblings: Kathy (Don) Duncan, Patrick (Michelle) Kut, and Yvette (John) Naltsas. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Shawn Duncan, Rena, Niko, Andrea, and Matthew Naltsas, and Ethan and Adeline Kut. He is survived by many cousins including: Butch, Geri, Jeff, Lisa, Gary, Sharon, Gayle, Chris, and Eric. John also left behind many close friends, including: Bob, Bruce, Greg, and Leon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Colleen Kut and many aunts and uncles. John will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery 801 Michigan City Rd. Calumet City, IL.
