John A. Claxton

John Allen Claxton, of Homewood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, at the age of 62.  He was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann Claxton.  Loving father of Lily Davis, John (Teresa) Claxton, and Thomas Claxton.  Cherished grandfather of Amelia Claxton and step grandfather of Jacob, Michael, and Gemma Davis.  Dear brother of Paul (Noon) Claxton and brother-in-law of Joseph and Jeffrey Schuler.

John spent his career as a carpenter, working tirelessly to help support his family.  He enjoyed many hobbies, especially fishing and boating with family and friends in Michigan.  John spent years participating in a bowling league with friends.  He loved the days he spent on the golf course with friends and with his sons.  John was an avid Bears and Cubs fan, and enjoyed watching games with family and friend.  During summertime parties, John would be found by the grill, preparing delicious bbq meals for his family.  John will be remembered as a dedicated husband and loving father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Edgar Claxton and Mary Joann Claxton nee Berry.  Mother-in-law, Claire Seville Schuler; father-in-law Joseph J. Schuler.  Sister-in-law Claire Schuler.
