Jerry Leon Lambert, age 87, of Flossmoor, Illinois, passed away on September 24, 2026 at home. Jerry was born on September 7, 1939 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Leon Lambert and Marjorie Wilson Lambert. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1957, Eastern Illinois University with a BS degree in history in 1962, Loyola of Chicago with a Master’s Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations in 1968 and IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law with a juris-doctorate in 1972.
Jerry served in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1957 to 1965. He also taught history for 14 years at ThornRidge High School in Dolton, Illinois. He then opened his own law practice in the south suburbs, enjoying the practice of law for over 40 years.
Jerry married Bonnie Willing in Homewood, Illinois in 1964, with whom he had two children, Laura and Douglas. He later married Connie Aeschleman in Eureka, Illinois in 1986 and became stepfather to Jeremiah, Heather and Rachel. He proudly was elected to and served on the Flossmoor Village Board of Trustees for 16 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife Connie, his daughter Laura (Robert) Keivan, daughter-in-law Cyndi Lambert, his stepchildren, sister Carole Parr, brother John Lambert, four grandchildren – Jack, Josef, Sam and Lilia, seven step grandchildren – Jacob, Blake, Nikki, Brooklyn, Laila, Justin and Annabella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Douglas Philip Lambert.
