Jean K. Baron

Jean K. Baron, 72, of Homewood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter and Marjorie Hutchcraft (Crowley).

Jeannie was born on February 9, 1952, and on December 26, 2011, she married her long-time love of over 30 years, David Botkin, who survives. Also surviving is her son, Jon (Jennifer) Baron; Sisters, Kerry Callahan, and Maureen O'Shea (Matt Raunio); Brothers, David Hutchcraft and Tom (Jen) Hutchcraft; many nieces and nephews / great nieces and nephews; Sister-in-Law to Frosty (Rosemary) Botkin, Bill (Christine) Botkin, Janis (Don) Barlog. Jeannie was preceded in death by her son Keith Baron, brother Michael Hutchcraft, and her beloved dog Snickers.

Jeannie loved bartending for many years and had an incredible knack for making people happy. When Jeannie smiled, her whole face lit up a room. She was full of spunk and always dressed to impress.   When you couldn't find Jeannie at work, she enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan and traveling the country. The Michigan City 800 dock will always be remembered as her second family.
