Janice L. Reisse

Janice Lee (Johnson) Reisse, 82, of Flossmoor, Illinois, passed away on April 16, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will always be remembered as a caring and passionate woman.

Born on May 12, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Janice grew up as the only daughter of May Britt and Walter Johnson and the sister of Walter Johnson Jr. She trained as a registered nurse at the South Shore Hospital's School of Nursing. She married the love of her life, Donald H.
Reisse Jr. in Chicago on 14 October 1967. They adopted their only child, Kristen Britt (Reisse) Hill, in March 1977. She was blessed with a son-in-law, three grandchildren, and one great-grandson. As a registered nurse, Janice devoted her life to caring for others. She was passionate about her work and loved what she did. She was an avid cat lover and volunteered with Paws and fostered rescue cats in her retirement.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Reisse) Hill, and son-in-law, Jonathan Hill, as well as her nephew, Neil Johnson, and her grandchildren, Trowa Hill, Erin (LeTourneau) Hill, Quillan Hill, and Freja Hill. She is also survived by her great-grandson, James (J) Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Reisse and her brother Walter A.
Johnson.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life for Janice will be held on April 23rd, 2026, from 10:00-12:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood, Illinois. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to pawstinleypark.org/donate/ or alleycat.org , organizations that were close to Janice's heart.
