Janice Claire Hill, 85, of Country Club Hills, Illinois passed away July 26, 2026.
She grew up in Beverly with her Mom, Dad, and Sister. She graduated from Morgan Park Academy in June 1954. She met the love of her life, Ronald Hill while cruising her Oldsmobile convertible in 1958.
She enjoyed meeting new people, and no one was a stranger for long. Her warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcome. Working at Wieboldt's and later at LensCrafters, both in Lincoln Mall, gave her the opportunity to do what she loved, help others.
What she loved most were her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. Whether it was a soccer, t-ball,baseball, basketball or volleyball games, band concert, dance recital, play or musical, graduation, or wedding, she was there, celebrating every milestone.
Janice and Ronald spent 65 incredible years together. Their marriage was marked by unwavering love, partnership, and devotion, and together they created a wonderful life and family. She is lovingly survived by her husband Ronald; son Donald (Becky); daughter Dana (Jason) Smith; her beloved grandchildren, Cassi, Owen (Katie), Meghan (Jake), Ian (Lauren), Melissa, Meredith, Devin, Jennah and Christopher; her cherished great-granddaughters Eleanor and Moriah; her sister, Marilyn; and brother-in-law Robert (Donna), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Irma and Clarence and her oldest son, David.
Although her passing has left a large hole in our hearts, her spirit will live on through all that she taught us, the family traditions she shared, the memories we cherish, and the countless conversations and moments of laughter shared with family and friends.
Visitation is Friday, July 31, from 3–8 p.m., and the service will be held Saturday, August 1, at 10 a.m., both at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Chicago, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.
