James Rodney Shaffer, age 81.  Late of Lansing, IL.  Beloved husband of Ruth A. Shaffer nee Kats.  Dear father of Beth (Charles) Applegate, James A. Shaffer, Sr., and the late Michael Rodney Shaffer.  Cherished grandfather of Olivia (Sergio) Gonzalez, Erin (Grant) Marvin, James A. Shaffer, Jr. Tyler (Cheyenne) Shaffer.  Great-grandfather of Colton Shaffer and Harper Shaffer. Dear son of the late Mamie Evelina and Noel Shaffer. Loving brother of Nola Ann Shaffer and the late Carl Leroy Shaffer. Longtime member of the First Christian Church of Lansing. Retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Resting at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy. Homewood, IL.
