James Evan Kikoen

James Evan Kikoen, "Jimmy," beloved and cherished son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal life peacefully on April 24, 2026.

Jimmy was a gentle soul who had an unassuming and genuine way of caring for others that left a lasting mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. His kindness ran deep; always offered with humility and never in search of recognition.

Jimmy spent his career in the automotive industry. He managed one of the retail outlets of Major Motor Supply Company, a longtime family business, for many years in Chicago.

For the past 25 years Jimmy worked for his brother David as the general manager at "Mr Hubcap & Wheels," where he was instrumental in growing and operating that business until March of 2026 when he helped relocate the business to Arizona, furthering his legacy. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his many friends, colleagues, and associates in the automotive industry.

Now reunited with our beloved mother and father Joan and Gene, James is survived by his loving siblings: Steven (Heidi) Kikoen, David (Rita) Kikoen, and Susan Chana (Moshe)Turner; his adoring nephews and nieces Cameron Kikoen, Alexis Kikoen Clements,Michael Kikoen, Brian Freer, Brandon Freer, and Jen Kurth; his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews Evelyn Kikoen, Sophia Kikoen, Lila Clements, Matilda Kikoen, Violet McCarty, Brandon Freer, Sienna McCarty, Chase McCarty, Justin Freer, and Camden Freer.

Jimmy took great pleasure in the simple things such as his weekly Saturday breakfasts and Sunday dinners, followed by his deep dives into his favorite series television and films, as well as his attendance at concerts – all in support of family, and alongside his siblings. Jimmy's knowledge of and involvement with rock music was truly boundless. His collections, from vinyl records to CDs & DVDs, were immense. In many ways, music appreciation was at the heart of who he was.

Jimmy was also an animal lover; he had a unique relationship with his cats throughout his life, and more recently, had established an incredible bond with Nola, his "adopted" dog.

This remarkably sincere son and brother leaves a void that cannot be replaced. May his memory be a blessing to all that knew him.
