Rooney, Jim, Jr. (Laura), Matt (Lynn), Betsy (Chris) Kopec, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Hollahan, Tom, M.J., and Joe. Dearest Papa of Katie Rooney, Megan (Robert) Magiet, Sarah (Brian) Chandler, and Joe Rooney, Becky (Rob) Maley and Jeffrey Brennan, Matthew (Brittany), Joe, and Betsy Creen, Claire and Michael Kopec, and Frank, Jim, Bill, and Mike Hollahan. Darling "Big Papa" of Grace, Charlotte, Connor, and Liam Magiet and Fiona, Audrey, and Owen Creen. Loving cousin of Eileen and Leon Stachewicz. Beloved son of the late Marie Creen Lynch and the late Val Creen. Fond stepson of the late Dennis Lynch. Admired brother-in-law of the late George (the late Sarah) Lennon, Jr., the late Mary Rose (the late John) Berger, and Virginia (the late George) Eck. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Graduate of Our Lady of Peace School, Class of 1947, Leo High School, Class of 1951, the University of Illinois, Class of 1957, and DePaul Law School, Class of 1962. Korean War Veteran. Practicing as an attorney for 43 years. Parishioner at Infant Jesus of Prague (St. Veronica) Parish for 57 years. Avid golfer and cut-throat Sorry player. A true gentleman and friend to all who knew him, and a role-model to his family.  Visitation will be held at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy, Homewood IL, on Monday April 21, from 9:00 a.m. until prayers at 10:30 a.m. Then we proceed to St. Veronica Church in Flossmoor, IL for a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
