James R. Bohr

James "Jim" R. Bohr, Jr., age 69 of Matteson, Illinois died Thursday, March 10, 2022. Jim fought multiple cancers for five challenging years, surpassing expectations, before taking a turn and entering Hospice care for the three weeks preceding his passing. Jim passed peacefully in his home comforted by his family. Jim is survived by his devoted wife Helene, neé Fredericks, and his three sons, James W. (Kim Chavarria) Bohr, Douglas Deorsey, and Adam Bohr.  He was the adoring, goofy grandfather of Miri and Jade Bohr, brother-in-law to Ron (Lisa) Fredericks, and son of the late James and Catherine. Jim loved his time as a grandfather and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He was a devoted White Sox Fan even in a "house divided," married to a die-hard Cubs fan. Special thanks are extended to lifelong friend Lenny Mysiewicz and the kind-hearted team of nurses and assistants at Elara Caring. There will be a Celebration of Life Service in the future.
