Howard Oliver

Howard Oliver, age 84, of Matteson, went to be home with the Lord May 26, 2020. Beloved husband of Beverly A. Oliver, loving father of Cynthia A. Denson and Charlotte R. Oliver. Loving brother of Geneva Jones, Letha Haley, and Jesse (Elsie) Oliver, and Uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Susie (Sanders) Oliver. Sisters Alma Traverica, Thelma Gertrude Oliver, Buehla Tieri, Subie Moore, Doris Hinshaw, Anne Latham. Brothers Alvie Oliver, Ernest Oliver, Hermon Oliver & Joe Oliver. He was a loving, honest, and kind man. He loved fishing and horseshoes and spent years getting good at them both. He was loving and kind to his family and friends and would help anyone and often did. He was hard working, loyal and a dependable worker who never missed a day of work even the day he was in a car accident. Although he did not have grandchildren of his own, he had a few children he considered his. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 1, from 3-6pm with a 4 pm Service at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
