Grace Mcshane

Mary Grace Gattone McShane, age 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Grace is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Harry) Maisel, Susan (John) Messaglia, Sharon (Louie) Fioretti, Janet (Reno) Caldanaro; grandchildren, Christina (Patrick), Angela, Johnny (Jessi), Gianna (Anthony), Dominic, Nick (Cristina), Sam (Morgan), Vince, Carly (Lee), Julia, Anna, Gabrielle, Anthony, and Mia; great-grandchildren, June, Frank, Grace, and Lane, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Michael McShane, parents, Charles and Elizabeth Gattone, and brother, Joseph Gattone.

Grace was born on June 1, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Charles and Elizabeth Gattone. Her brothers, Frank, Joe, Guy, and Chuck have been a constant source of love and influence in Grace's life, along with her many nieces and nephews. Grace was very social and had many friends in every aspect of her life. She made new friends and kept old friends by her side throughout her life. She cared so much about her family and friends and was always there for anyone who needed her. Grace lived her life to the fullest. She brought joy and laughter to every room she was in with funny jokes, sassy comments, and interesting stories. Grace was always the fashionista and made sure she was dressed cute and had her lipstick on! She taught her daughters love, compassion, caring, and love of life. Grace was a devoted grandmother and loved her grandchildren so much. She made them pancakes in the shape of their names, made them into loaves of bread to wake them up in the morning, participated in field trips and other events in their lives, and was there for them in every way possible. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She was so proud of each and every one of them and was so thankful to be their grandma! Grace was the best; most memorable grandma and her grandkids will miss her dearly.
