Gladys M. Schneider

Gladys Schneider (nee Edman) of Flossmoor was born June 11, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Helga Edman (Anderson). Gladys was graduate of Calumet High School and MacCormac Junior College with a degree in music education. She married Fremont Schneider, Jr. in the fall of 1952 and enthusiastically raised four children in Chicago Heights.

After being widowed in 1988, Gladys traveled the world, including Europe, Australia, Africa, Greenland, and made several trips to visit family in Sweden. She had a regular movie and dinner night with her dear friends and loved taking long drives to nowhere in particular. Gladys was a member of South Suburban Linnea Society.

After a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease and a massive stroke in July, Gladys passed peacefully on August 7, 2022.

She is survived by her four children; Fremont Schneider III (Renee), Edman Schneider (Diane), Donald Peter Schneider (the late Dawn Briggs), and Dr. Annmarie Schneider-Edman van Altena (Timothy); seven grandchildren; Fremont IV, Ian (Jennifer), William, Megan, Kenneth, Ethan, and Lucas, and two great-grandchildren; Ezra and Evelyn.

She will be remembered and a loving mother and a wonderful friend.
