Gertrude K. Benton

Gertrude K. Benton passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2024 at the age of 90, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. Gertrude (Gert) was born on November 3, 1933, in the city of Chicago. Gertrude and her late husband Robert raised their four children Pamela (Robert), Jack, Kathleen (late David), and Mary Kay (Barry) in Riverdale.  Gertrude was a proud grandmother to Rob (Cara), Jennifer (Brian), Michele (Scott), Katie (Tony), Jack (Laura), Tim (Leslie), Elizabeth (Keith), Megan, Melissa, and a loving great-grandmother to Kyle, Madeline, Allison, Kiera, AJ, Connor, Nicholas, Aaron, Ameliah, Ellie and Emma.  She is survived by brother Walter, brother Robert (Gina), sister Andrea, and many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents William and Stella, brother William, sister Estelle, sister Kathleen, and brother Frank.  Visitation Thursday February 15, from 3-8pm at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
