George A. Adkins

George Alexander Adkins, affectionately known as "Georgie, G, Big G, Geezy, G Money" was born on January 1, 2000, to George and Linda (Newman) Adkins. George was the first baby born in the New Millenium at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights.

George always found joy in the simple things in life and cherished time spent with family and friends. George was a kind-hearted soul whose love for animals reflected his gentle and caring nature. One of his most beloved family traditions was contributing his homemade bread to the Thanksgiving dinner table each year, a gesture that became a treasured part of family gatherings.

George attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where he developed many lasting friendships and deepened his passion for music. As a talented drummer, he played in both the high school marching band and a rock band, "Into the Void".

After high school, George attended University of Missouri where he played in the drumline of the marching band. After a year, George decided to pivot, move back closer to home, and sharpen his home grown love for cooking by attending culinary school. In the years to come, he worked part-time and continued his education at DePaul University and National University, studying Allied Health with hopes to become a radiology technician. He also volunteered regularly at Ingalls Hospital in Robbins.

Outside of school and work, George was an avid reader, cinephile, chef, and had a continuous desire to learn more about the world around him including science, domestic and international politics. His creativity, energy, and passion for engaging discussions left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, George and Linda (Newman) Adkins, and his sister, Ciara Adkins, along with extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

George will be remembered for his warm spirit, love of reading, musical talent, and the joy he brought to family gatherings. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in memory of George A. Adkins to the Steve Fund at www.stevefund.org/donate .
