Eugene "Gene" Ricci

Eugene "Gene" Ricci, 56, of Homewood, left this world suddenly surrounded by family.   Gene was welcomed into his life by Lawrence and Irene and blessed to be raised by his stepmother Betty from the age of 9.  Gene was number 11 of 12 children and joined siblings Larry (Sharon), Bill (Rose), Maryann (Ken) Culver, George, Danny (deceased), Linda (Tony) Recupito, Diane (Jim) Maxwell, Andy (Ann), Mike (deceased), Bob (Kim) and Dave (Lisa).  Being so close in age, he considered his niece Christine Troli as a sister and loved her no less than his siblings.  Gene met Donia Pizza in 1989 and was fortunate to have her, not only as the love of his life, wife, and mother of their 3 beautiful children, Austin, Sean and Gina, but also to send him with love as he transitioned from this life.  Gene was, and will continue to be loved by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and countless friends.   Gene will be remembered as a wonderful father, a contractor, owner of Gene Ricci Services and a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #1169, but also for his laugh, kindness, helpful and fun loving nature.  In Gene's last act of kindness and generosity, he gave the gift of life when he donated organs and tissue to others so they may have a better, healthier life.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 5 from 3:00 p.m until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood.
