Elizabeth R. (Betsey) Kennedy, December 2, 1932 - January 9, 2022 Age 89, of Homewood, beloved wife of Jack (deceased), loving mother of John (Joanne) Kennedy, Katie (Don) Slench, Patty (Tom) Brand, Mike (Jackie) Kennedy, Liz (Joe) Call, Meg (Jeff Zittritsch) Kinsella, cherished grandmother of 20, great grandmother of 15, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Robbins, dear, dear sister of Jean (David) Linderman, sister-in-law to Thomas Kennedy, and Patricia Kennedy. Betsey was truly a "home" maker, filling her home with faith and love for her family. She was the co-owner of Cherry Lane Cottage in Homewood, Illinois. She volunteered her time helping children in literacy programs, as well as volunteering with Respond Now and PADS. Betsey was a member of Infant Jesus of Prague in Flossmoor and then St. Joseph's Church. Betsey lived her life through the lens of faith in God, first and always. Betsey believed in loving everybody as Christ did. No exceptions! This began with her large family, of 57, that included her own children, her sons' and daughters' spouses that she loved as her own, and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren! Betsey was passionate about her family, daily mass, her friends, bible study, reading, the Cubs, politics, and a love of travel that began with Jack. Private Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls or Respond Now, 2 organizations that Betsey supported throughout her life that helped families in need.
