Diana Mary Draus (nee Brodine), of Matteson and South Holland, Illinois passed away on January 14, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Born August 18, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Irene Brodine, and dear sister to the late Irene (the late Dave) Firebaugh, the late Warren J. (the late Elaine) Brodine, Sandy (Ken) Mantha, Linda (Randy) Shaffer.  She was the beloved wife to the late Bernard Andrew "Pete" Draus and the late Raymond Skalski, dear mother of Andrew (Diane) Skalski and Warren (Robin) Skalski, stepmother of Peter Draus, Patrick Draus, Laurie (Jim) Hahle, Christopher (Debbie) Draus and the late Timothy Draus.  Cherished grandmother of Nicole (Jeff) Roth, Shannon Hahle, Erin (Mac) Kiley, Katie and Ellie Draus and cherished great grandmother of Chip Roth and Elle Kiley and a fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Diana was an exceptionally loving and caring individual, whose vivacious spirit illuminated every endeavor she undertook. A dedicated tax professional at Brodine & Associates for decades, she approached her work with unparalleled expertise and enthusiasm, blending meticulous precision with a genuine passion for her clients. She truly cherished her clients and reveled in the moments spent catching up on their lives while skillfully saving them money on their taxes each year. This heartfelt interaction brought her immense joy.

Beyond her remarkable career, Diana's heart was a wellspring of devotion for her family, whom she cherished with unwavering love. Her most favorite time of the year was the time she spent at her "sisters conventions."  She found boundless delight in the spirited game of gin, and she relished the exhilarating ambiance of the casino, where she created many cherished memories. Her adventurous spirit knew no bounds, leading her to traverse the globe, where she embraced diverse cultures and rich experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Diana's infectious personality and boundless love left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy is one of warmth, joy, and the profound positive impact she made on the lives she touched.
