Derrick C. Sochacki

Derrick Corleone Sochacki  passed away  on October 26th, 2025 at the age of 28 after fighting for his life for several weeks in the intensive care unit after a terrible motorcycle accident. He was born December 19, 1996 in Hazel Crest Illinois to Father Derek Sochacki (Monica) and late Mother Jennifer Thomas. Preceded in death by his Grandmother MaryAnn Reichenberger. Survived by his children Derrick Luian, Leilani and Allen, loving partner Angela Desiderio, Siblings Zoe & Gia, Grandparents Edward Sochacki, Karen Novak, Jack Reichenberger (Bonnie), Aunts Jackie Williams (Johnnie Williams), Christina Reichenberger, Ricki Ruzich-Sochacki, Kimberly Reese (Tommie Reese), Latoya Griffith, LaTonia Thomas (Kajundii smith) and Uncles Randy Sochacki & Jaymes Thomas as well as several cousins and extended family members.

There are people who live life fast, loud, and full of laughter—and then there are people like Derrick Sochacki, who managed to do all that and still make everyone around him feel like family. Derrick wasn't just a man who worked hard; he was a man who lived hard, loved fiercely, and left a mark that will never fade. From the time he was young, Derrick had an eye for how things worked. Whether it was a busted engine, a leaking pipe, or a stubborn carburetor, he had the patience and the touch to bring it back to life. He took pride in his work as a plumber, not because it was glamorous, but because it was honest. Fixing things gave him purpose—it was his way of helping people. There was a quiet satisfaction in turning wrenches, in solving problems, in knowing that he made someone's day just a little easier. But when the work boots came off, the roar of an engine was never far behind. Derrick's heart beat to the rhythm of the open road. Riding his motorcycle wasn't just a hobby—it was freedom. The wind, the rumble, the sense of escape—it was where he found peace. That same spirit of adventure showed up in everything he did, even in his unusual choice of pet—his alligator, Dale. Most people would've been scared, but not Derrick; It wasn't strange to him—it was just Derrick being Derrick, fearless and full of life. Yet, for all his passions and wild stories, his world truly revolved around his kids. Luian, Leilani and Allen were the center of everything. They were his pride, his purpose, and his greatest joy. He loved seeing them grow, teaching them about life and hard work , joking with them, and showing them the kind of love that stays long after words fade. Derrick made sure they knew that no matter what, their dad was always in their corner. Those who knew Derrick will remember the laughter, the grease-stained hands, the late nights in the garage, the sound of the bike starting up, and the deep love he carried for his family. He lived his life the only way he knew how—with passion, humor, and heart. He left behind more than stories; he left a legacy of love, loyalty, and strength. Derrick Sochacki was the kind of man you don't forget—not because he tried to be someone special, but because he was real. And in every rev of a motorcycle, every repaired pipe, every memory shared by his kids and friends—Derrick lives on.
