Dennis Osborne Barbour

Dennis Osborne Barbour, Age 81, February 16, 2021. Late of Homewood, IL, formally South Side of Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Pauline E. Barbour nee Howell. Dear father of Paula (Emilio) Villalobos, Craig Barbour, Kimberly Barbour, James McElligott, and Cheryl McElligott ur-Larosa. Grandfather (one truly amazing Papa) to Lilah V., Violet V., Kendell B., Brynn B., Nathan D. Great Grandfather of Analise, Joshua, Travis, and Trey. Cherished brother of DeElward (Diane), Roland (Beverly), and Endia (Charles). Survived by countless cousins, nephews, nieces. Retired  from Cook County Sheriffs department with 27 years of service. He is an insurmountable loss to family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure to know/meet him. Although taken too soon, he lived an exuberant life; full of adventure, accomplishment, love, generosity, and laughter. Many lives will not be the same without him, but many have been made better by the wisdom and guidance he left behind.
