Darlene J. Pilota, age 84 of Chicago Heights, peacefully  passed away on September 6, 2021. Beloved aunt of Ken (late Michelle) Pilota, Michael (Anita) Pilota, Toni (Mike) Murphy; Ryan (Kristin) Pilota; Step niece Heather Abbate; great nieces and nephews Danielle and Kenneth Pilota, Jr.; Adam (Pariss) and Jessica Pilota; Lauren and Sean Murphy; Mikayla and Mason Pilota and Anthony and Taylor Pilota. Preceded in death by her parents Alfred (George) Pilota, Esther (nee Verrecchia); brothers Gary and George, and nephew Gary Pilota.

Darlene was employed by Illinois Bell for 13 years and later retired from American Lock Manufacturing. She was a graduate of Bloom High School in Chicago Heights and one of the longtime parishioners of San Rocco Church. She loved to cook and bake, and she was happiest when her table was overflowing with food and family. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays, family reunions and every special occasion over the years. Darlene's love for animals gave her many pets throughout her lifetime, a caring and safe home. As we say goodbye, we will take comfort in the memory of her kind and generous spirit. May she rest in eternal peace.

A Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, September 10, from 9:00 am until time of prayers at 10:30 am at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood. Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 am at the Infant Jesus of Prague Church, 1131 Douglas Ave. in Flossmoor. Interment private at Assumption Cemetery. Glenwood, IL.
