Daniel E. Wicklund

Daniel Ebert Wicklund late of Palos, formerly of Homewood, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, of Covid complications at the age of 80. He was a beloved husband and a caring gentle father of 7. Daniel is survived by his wife JoAnne Wicklund and p receded in death by his first wife, Judith Ann Gugliuzza Wicklund (1968). Loving father of Daniel Wicklund Jr., Peter (Heidi) Wicklund, Keith Wicklund, Jim (Kim) Wicklund, Sean (Diane) Wicklund, Erik (Sue) Wicklund, and Amy Wicklund. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Brittany, Lauren, and Dylan. His brother David Wicklund, sister Noel (Tom) Adamek. Nieces Tiffany (Dan) Gescheidler, Emily Melina and Nephews Todd Adamek, Galen Melina. He was preceded in death by his parents Ebert & Bernice, and his brother Dennis Wicklund. Daniel was a retired Illinois State Police Master Sergeant for 33 years. He often went by the nick name Silver Fox. Served - United States Air Force. Loved Chicago Bears and Northwestern football. Jazz provided the soundtrack to his life. A visitation will be held on Monday November 16, from 9 am until the time of prayers at 10:30 am at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood. (All Covid precautions will be taken) Funeral Mass 11 am at St. Joseph Church in Homewood. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
