Carole E. Shelton

Carole Elizabeth Shelton was born on September 5, 1939, to Laurence Edand Mary Elizabeth Shelton in Chicago Illinois.

Carole attended and graduated from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois.

After high school she worked a number of years as a dietitian. Later she worked many years as an administrative assistant for a podiatrist in the Hyde Park area of Chicago.

She loved children and often cared for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was awesome in the kitchen, loving, loved her road trips, watching sports with her family, and was always reliable.

She also loved traditional jazz. Some of her favorite musicians were Stan Getz and Ramsey Lewis.

Carole is preceded in death by her father, Laurence Shelton, mother, Mary Elizabeth Shelton, brother, Donald Shelton, her nephew, Steven Shelton, and great nephew, Aaron Hawkins.

Carole will be dearly missed every day by the love of her life, son, Andre Shelton (Jasmine), brother, Paul Shelton, grandchildren, Ariel, Skylar, and Ajani, niece, Donna Shelton Marquez, sister-in-law, Katherine Shelton, great-niece, Candace Green, great-nephew, Devin Marquez, and numerous relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood IL, Thursday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Washington Memory Gardens.
