Betty J. Berg

Betty J. Berg nee Hancock, age 89.   Born in New Britain, CT, moved to Illinois to attend Aurora College. Late of Olympia Fields, formerly of Chicago Heights.   Loving wife of 66 years to Merrill Berg.  Dear mother of Gary (Mary Ann) Berg, Janet (Dan Trimpe) Berg and David (Diane) Berg.  Grandmother of Peter Berg, Bill (Kimberly) Dickens, and Melissa (Ryan) Baumgartner.  Great-Grandmother of Jillian, Gwyneth, Thomas, David, and Anna.  Sister of the late Lois Marecki and late Peter Hancock.  Fond aunt, cousin and friend to many.  Avid traveler, accomplished baker.  Member of the Denison Society (descendants of Captain George Denison) of Mystic, CT.  Long-time volunteer at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Glenwood, active in the Tabitha women's group, church choir and handbell choir.  Talented basket weaver who loved knitting and cross stitching. Retired teacher's aide.  Enjoyed weekly bowling, frequent outdoor walks and volunteer work with a number of organizations.  Most of all she loved her family and friends. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.  A future memorial service will be planned.
