Barry D. Klippenstein Jr.

In loving memory of Barry Klippenstein, Jr., age 66. Retired from the environmental services industry. Loving husband of Judy Klippenstein and devoted father of Amelia "Amy" Kozuch (Tom) and Megan Klippenstein (Chris Jaurigue). Dear stepson of Jacque Klippenstein and brother of Mark Klippenstein, Robin Unruh, Rhonda Changizi, Phillip Wollenhaupt, and Caryn Rose Luebke. Dear uncle of 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barry Klippenstein Sr. and Verona Klippenstein.

Barry was born on January 7, 1957, and was raised in Park Forest, Illinois and was a longtime resident of Homewood, Illinois. He attended Rich East High School and went on to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating with a degree in Marketing in 1979.

Barry loved all types of sports but was particularly passionate about the Cubs and coaching his daughters' softball teams.  He was also a big fan of craft beers (especially Three Floyd's Dark Lord Beer) and The Grateful Dead.  He loved walking his dog Eddie around Izaak Walton in Homewood and spending quality time with his five grand pups.

This will be a casual gathering of family and friends in celebration of his life. Those who would like to are encouraged to wear attire honoring the Cubs, Grateful Dead, or a favorite craft beer.  If you are traveling from out-of-town, we suggest finding a hotel in Tinley Park, Illinois, Munster, Indiana, or La Banque Hotel in Homewood, Illinois.

Visitation at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Highway, Homewood, Friday, April 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral service immediately following at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve.
