Barbara J. Maher

Barbara J. Maher (née Graf), age 75, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 19, 1950, in Chicago, IL, Barbara devoted more than 40 years to a successful career in the steel industry. She had a zest for life and enjoyed golf, gardening, and a perfectly crafted mojito—especially when prepared by the right muddler.

A woman of deep faith, Barbara was a devout Catholic whose spirituality and strength guided her throughout her life. She was beautiful inside and out, with a generous heart and a gift for turning acquaintances into lifelong friends. Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her love of God, and the joy she found in every moment spent with family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brian; her parents, Frank and Sue Graf; and her brother, John Graf. She is survived by her siblings, Sandy (Kent) Bowman, Thomas (Marie Lorden) Graf, David (Kathy) Graf, Dennis (Melanie Taylor) Graf, and Donna (John) Imbery. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Holly Graf, Daniel (Mia) Imbery, Jaimee Imbery, Melissa (Jake) Boyer, Nicholas Graf, Hayley Graf, Matthew Graf, Kylie Graf, Sydney Taylor, and Tavia Taylor, as well as two great-nephews and two great-nieces.

A memorial wake will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM at St. Anne Parish, 16801 S. Dixie Highway, Hazel Crest, IL.

Barbara's family and friends will forever cherish the laughter, love, and light she brought into their lives.
