Barbara L. Budzik

Barbara L. Budzik passed away peacefully on August 2, 2021, just 4 days shy of her 77th birthday. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Estelle Budzik. She is survived by her brother, John (Carole) and by niece, Jonalyn, nephew, Michael, a great niece, great nephews and cousins. As a teacher, Barbara touched the lives of generations of students, imparting not only "the three R's, but also important life lessons, done with care and good humor. It thrilled her when former students returned to thank her for being such a great teacher. Barbara loved to read, to play trivial pursuit and bingo, to garden and to enjoy computer games, crossword, word and jigsaw puzzles. She loved Jeopardy and watching nature programs. She was a fan of the Muppets, and, for special occasions, took on the persona of "Miss Piggy", after graduating from clown ministry school. She loved to make people laugh and enjoyed storytelling and sharing jokes. Barbara was a devoted and active member of St. Anne's Parish in Hazel Crest, Il. She coordinated and taught the RCIA program, sang in the choir, and was a lector and liturgy member. She was also the coordinator of the beautification committee for many years. Fittingly, her visitation and funeral will be held there on Saturday at St. Anne's Church August 7, with the visitation from 9 to 10 AM followed by the funeral Mass at 10AM.
