Anne Mancini

Anne L. Mancini, nee Harper, of Flossmoor, Illinois, passed away on December 30, 2024. Anne was the loving wife of John Mancini. Married on St. Patrick's Day, the two of them shared many laughs in their four decades together. She had two children, Jamie and John Mancini, whom she loved with all of her heart. Both Jamie and Johnny say their mom was their best friend.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Dorothy Harper and her brothers, John (Rachel) Harper and Tom (Karen) Harper. It brings us great comfort to imagine them being reunited in the afterlife, where Anne is no doubt already rolling her eyes at something one of them said. We're also sure she's holding her great-niece, Grace Miltzow, in her arms.

Also surviving are her siblings Kathy (Tim) Mulcahy, Michael (Janet) Harper, Mary (Jack) Wright, Joe (Lucy) Harper, Greg (Cindy) Harper and Therese O'Donnell and her in-laws Theresa (Bob) Graziani, Janice (Butch) Leonardo and Marilyn Mancini. She insisted she was the "favorite aunt" of her many nieces and nephews, and in most cases that was true. She was loved by every baby and dog she ever met.

She'll also be remembered by a huge number of cousins, neighbors and friends.

Anne was truly one of a kind. She was witty and as sharp as a tack. If you made the mistake of insulting her or someone she loved, she'd come back at you with a side-splittingly funny remark that also contained a poison-soaked barb. You could never outwit her and she had the best laugh.

Anne was very crafty and had a natural eye for decorating. Nobody on earth was a better storyteller. She was always available to help a family member move, paint a bedroom or hold a garage sale. Anne loved a nice glass of wine and spending time laughing with her sisters.

She and her husband John loved each other's company, whether it was watching old Western movies or listening to music together. They shared a zany sense of humor. Parties at their house were legendary, often ending with John playing his guitar and the whole party singing along to Beatles songs.

At age 39, Anne became a mom. Jamie and John were her entire life. She was so proud of every accomplishment and milestone they achieved and regaled everyone with stories about the funny things they did. She truly lived for her family. Her intelligence and sense of humor were luckily passed down to her children.

There will be an empty seat at our tables for the rest of our lives. She will always be missed. We are so lucky to have loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please do something nice for someone you love in her honor.
